CTY Group was one of the projects that moved Booking Ninjas from the idea of a Salesforce-native hotel platform into the practical requirements of running a real hotel.
CTY Group was an early Booking Ninjas hospitality customer in the Netherlands. The client was preparing a boutique hotel and wanted a more flexible alternative to the rigid legacy hotel systems available at the time.
Booking Ninjas worked on the core hotel environment, including reservation management, channel connectivity, and a Hotel Tech key-card integration.
The challenge: move beyond rigid hotel software
The client was looking for a modern PMS environment as the hotel operation was taking shape.
The problem was not simply taking a reservation.
A functioning hotel needed the reservation environment to connect with distribution, room access, guest information, availability, and the operational workflows around the stay.
- Hotel reservations
- Room availability
- Guest information
- Booking channels
- Rate and inventory updates
- Room-access technology
- Hotel workflows
- Salesforce data
The client was also looking for flexibility. Rather than choosing another fixed legacy PMS and adapting the hotel around it, the project explored how Salesforce could provide a foundation that could continue changing with the operation.
The project moved into real hotel requirements
CTY Group became an important early test of whether Booking Ninjas' Salesforce-native approach could work outside a demonstration environment.
The implementation brought together several pieces a functioning hotel needed.
Build the core structure for managing hotel bookings, guests, dates, and room activity.
Connect the hotel reservation environment with external booking-channel activity.
Integrate Hotel Tech key-card functionality as part of the wider hotel technology environment.
Keep the hotel workflow on a foundation designed for connected records, automation, reporting, and future integrations.
What Booking Ninjas built around the hotel model
| Hotel need | Booking Ninjas work | What the project demonstrated |
|---|---|---|
| Manage hotel bookings | Reservation Management | Salesforce could become the working foundation for hotel reservation records rather than remaining only a general CRM. |
| Connect external booking channels | Channel Manager | Availability and reservations could connect with the wider distribution environment instead of requiring the PMS to remain isolated. |
| Connect room-access technology | Hotel Tech key-card integration | The PMS environment could interact with specialist hotel technology required beyond the reservation itself. |
| Keep the architecture expandable | Salesforce + Integration Foundation | The hotel could have a system designed to connect with additional tools and workflows rather than becoming another closed application. |
A hotel PMS could not operate alone
One of the clearest lessons from the project was that hotel reservations sit inside a wider technology environment.
A direct reservation may enter the PMS one way. An OTA reservation may arrive through another channel. Availability needs to remain accurate across those sources.
Booking Ninjas worked on channel connectivity as part of the CTY Group environment rather than treating distribution as somebody else's disconnected problem.
Today's Booking Ninjas Channel Manager follows the same principle by synchronizing availability, rates, and reservations with external booking platforms while keeping centralized reservation visibility inside Salesforce.
Room access showed why integrations matter in real hospitality
A hotel does not stop operating at the PMS boundary.
Guests need physical room access. That means reservation and check-in activity eventually has to interact with specialist access technology.
For CTY Group, Booking Ninjas worked with Hotel Tech key-card integration as part of the project.
That was an important early hospitality lesson: building the booking application was only part of the job. A usable hotel environment also needed to connect with the systems surrounding it.
Booking Ninjas' current integration architecture continues that approach through APIs, middleware, event-driven synchronization, and connections with specialist systems. :contentReference[oaicite:2]{index=2}
The project proved the hospitality model was real
CTY Group was important because it pushed Booking Ninjas into practical hotel requirements at an early stage of the company.
Reservation management had to work in a hotel context.
Distribution had to connect.
Access technology had to integrate.
The Salesforce architecture had to move beyond a product concept and begin supporting the kinds of relationships a working hotel environment required.
The project helped demonstrate that core hotel booking activity could be represented inside a Salesforce-native operating environment.
OTA and booking-channel activity reinforced that reservations and inventory could not be treated as an isolated PMS function.
The key-card requirement showed that hospitality software also had to work with the physical technology surrounding the guest stay.
The project gave Booking Ninjas real experience with what a hotel operator expected from a modern property environment.
But building the technology was only half the challenge
The project also exposed a weakness Booking Ninjas needed to address.
The company was growing quickly and had taken on more customer work than its early development team could effectively support at once.
As CTY Group's requirements continued to develop, implementation and development speed did not keep pace with what the client needed.
The project therefore did not reach production go-live.
That distinction matters.
The problem was not simply whether the architecture could model hotel operations. CTY Group had already pushed the product into reservations, distribution, and access integration.
The challenge was whether Booking Ninjas could turn evolving requirements into finished, customer-ready workflows quickly enough while supporting several implementations at the same time.
The non-go-live became part of how Booking Ninjas matured
CTY Group should not be rewritten as a conventional go-live success story.
Its value is more useful when the ending stays intact.
The engagement showed Booking Ninjas where the company needed to strengthen the work around the product itself.
- Development capacity
- Implementation structure
- Requirement prioritization
- Integration delivery
- Customer review cycles
- Project ownership
- Release planning
- Delivery speed
Those lessons helped shape the need for a more structured way to move customers from requirements into configuration, review, refinement, and launch.
The product and the delivery model both had to grow
Booking Ninjas today has a much broader hospitality platform than the early environment being built during the CTY Group project.
The current Booking Management platform connects reservations, resources, availability, pricing, channel management, check-in and checkout, and other operating workflows directly inside Salesforce. :contentReference[oaicite:3]{index=3}
Just as important, the implementation process can now begin from an organization's own Salesforce environment, records, workflows, requirements, integrations, and permissions rather than treating delivery as a sequence of unrelated custom development requests.
The Knowledge Center describes the Salesforce org as the environment where Booking Ninjas can prepare records, users, permissions, workflows, reporting, integrations, and other capabilities around the organization using it. :contentReference[oaicite:4]{index=4}
Why CTY Group still belongs in the Booking Ninjas story
The project moved beyond a theoretical PMS concept into practical hotel reservations, distribution, and access-control requirements.
The work demonstrated how hotel operations could be organized on a Salesforce foundation rather than only in a closed legacy PMS.
Channel and key-card connectivity showed that a modern hotel environment needs to work with the systems surrounding the reservation.
Customer demand was increasing faster than the early team could turn every evolving requirement into finished implementation work.
Development capacity, implementation discipline, prioritization, and delivery speed became just as important as product capability.
The experience became part of Booking Ninjas' progression toward a more mature hospitality platform and implementation model.
The original product idea still holds
CTY Group was initially drawn to a model that did not force the hotel into another rigid legacy PMS.
That idea remains central to Booking Ninjas.
Salesforce provides the operating foundation. Booking Ninjas adds the booking and property capabilities. Configuration and integrations then shape the environment around the organization using it.
The difference is that Booking Ninjas also learned that flexibility has to be paired with disciplined delivery. A system that can be shaped around the customer is only valuable when that customer can move through implementation at a workable pace.

What Is a Salesforce Org? →About this story: CTY Group was an early Booking Ninjas hospitality customer. Booking Ninjas worked on a hotel environment covering PMS and reservation management, channel connectivity, and Hotel Tech key-card integration. The project did not reach production go-live. At that stage of Booking Ninjas' growth, customer demand was moving faster than the early development team's capacity to deliver evolving requirements. This story presents that outcome directly rather than implying a completed deployment or unverified operational results.
